About the role

Key responsibilities & impact

Prepares and performs a complete range of non-invasive diagnostic ultrasound tests
Assists the Radiologist in invasive procedures
Transports patients to and from testing areas as requested
Shares 24-hour call coverage with all diagnostic sonographers
Follows proper procedures in scheduling invasive procedures
Reviews patient’s chart for assessment data and clarification of orders
Prepares data sheets with patient history and technical interpretation for Radiologist
Consults Radiologist of any abnormal findings
Notifies ordering physician immediately per Radiologist request
Performs primary equipment maintenance to ensure proper operation and continuity of patient service
Follows guidelines/policies regarding cleaning equipment and keeping rooms clean
Suggests ways to continually improve quality, productivity, costs and work processes
Demonstrates proficiency with timeliness of charge entry and selection of correct charges for services provided
