About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Provide primary care services to adult and geriatric patients, with the opportunity to serve pediatric and adolescent populations as needed.
- Perform patient assessments, diagnoses, treatment planning, and follow-up care.
- Promote health education, disease prevention, and wellness initiatives.
- Prescribe medications and make specialist referrals in accordance with medical protocols.
- Collaborate with physicians, social service professionals, and care teams to coordinate patient care.
- Maintain accurate documentation in the electronic health record system.
- Participate in continuing education and maintain professional licensure and certification requirements.
- Serve on organizational committees and represent Mercy Care at community health fairs and outreach events 3–4 times annually.
Requirements
What you’ll need- Graduate of an accredited Physician Assistant program.
- Current certification as a Physician Assistant-Certified (PA-C) through the National Commission on Certification of Physician Assistants (NCCPA).
- Minimum of three (3) years of Physician Assistant experience; post-graduate clinical experience preferred.
- Knowledge of Georgia Physician Assistant scope of practice.
- Experience with EPIC preferred.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications and electronic communication systems.
