About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Leads strategic sourcing activities for complex small and medium initiatives
  • Coordinates with Strategic Sourcing leadership to conduct competitive sourcing processes for direct and indirect commodities and services
  • Analyzes responses, performs cost benefit analysis, develops reports/presentations and presents/makes recommendations for initiatives with moderate risk and value
  • Conducts competitive sourcing and negotiation process on initiatives with moderate risk and value
  • Determines most favorable quotes and/or negotiates with vendors to obtain optimal price, terms and conditions
  • Responsible for supporting the contracting and value validation process in the supply chain organization

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • Bachelor’s degree in business, finance or clinical discipline
  • 5 (five) years of relevant work experience or an equivalent combination of education and work experience
  • Appropriate technical certification (i.e. CQM, CPM, CPIM) desirable
  • Comprehensive knowledge of data analysis, purchasing practice, pricing structure, products and services, vendor relationships, and market analysis for trends
  • Understands Lean Manufacturing/Operations and technical problem-solving concepts and techniques
  • Strong analytical skills including ability to construct and execute multiple complex analyses (e.g. Total Cost of Ownership (TCO), Economic Value to Customer (EVC), Net Present Value (NPV) simultaneously
  • Advanced Excel, Word and Power-point skills required
  • Knowledge of an ERP application is preferred
  • Strong problem solving skills with ability to research problems and present findings
