About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Develop, coordinate, and implement staffing plan to ensure adequate care coverage
- Evaluate retrospective, current and prospective unit productivity
- Coordinate response to urgent/emergent situations
- Responsible for collaboration, communication & facilitation of optimal provision of care
- Implementation of appropriate service recovery strategies
- Collaborate with nursing education to facilitate orientation initiatives
- Participate in hiring, evaluating, initiating corrective action and terminating employees as needed
- Educate team members in theoretical and clinical competencies
- Collaborate with leadership to provide formal feedback through performance development process
- Ensure quality nursing care is rendered to all patients
- Act as mentor; clinician; educator; consultant/collaborator; and navigator
Requirements
What you’ll need- Graduation from an accredited school of nursing
- Current licensure in the State of New York
- Baccalaureate Degree in the Science of Nursing (BSN) from an accredited school of nursing preferred
- 1 to 2 years progressive experience in the field and/or leadership experience preferred
- Certification/licensure as required by regulatory agency
- Strong clinical skills and leadership qualities preferred
- Actively working toward an advanced degree preferred
- Maintains all licensures and certifications according to NYS regulations and specialty area requirements
- Participates in continuing education and updates and maintains knowledge and skills related to specific areas of expertise
