About the role

Key responsibilities & impact

Develop, coordinate, and implement staffing plan to ensure adequate care coverage
Evaluate retrospective, current and prospective unit productivity
Coordinate response to urgent/emergent situations
Responsible for collaboration, communication & facilitation of optimal provision of care
Implementation of appropriate service recovery strategies
Collaborate with nursing education to facilitate orientation initiatives
Participate in hiring, evaluating, initiating corrective action and terminating employees as needed
Educate team members in theoretical and clinical competencies
Collaborate with leadership to provide formal feedback through performance development process
Ensure quality nursing care is rendered to all patients
Act as mentor; clinician; educator; consultant/collaborator; and navigator

Requirements

What you’ll need

Graduation from an accredited school of nursing
Current licensure in the State of New York
Baccalaureate Degree in the Science of Nursing (BSN) from an accredited school of nursing preferred
1 to 2 years progressive experience in the field and/or leadership experience preferred
Certification/licensure as required by regulatory agency
Strong clinical skills and leadership qualities preferred
Actively working toward an advanced degree preferred
Maintains all licensures and certifications according to NYS regulations and specialty area requirements
Participates in continuing education and updates and maintains knowledge and skills related to specific areas of expertise
