About the role
- Design and own the end-to-end solution architecture for the Fleet Cascading & Optimization Platform
- Define and evolve a cloud-native microservices architecture on AWS using ECS/Fargate, API Gateway, Lambda, and event-driven services (EventBridge, SNS/SQS)
- Architect and govern the data platform, including Snowflake data warehouse, S3-based data lake (Apache Iceberg), CDC pipelines, and ETL/ELT workflows
- Define and enforce data access and security models, including RBAC/ABAC and enterprise governance standards
- Design the ML platform architecture, including SageMaker pipelines, Feature Store, Model Registry, and Bedrock-based GenAI integrations
- Lead the enterprise integration strategy for systems such as Hexagon, Salesforce, and JD Edwards using APIs, CDC, and ETL patterns
- Drive architectural decisions around scalability, availability, performance, security, compliance, and cost efficiency
- Partner with engineering teams to guide implementation and ensure architectural alignment
- Communicate architectural decisions, trade-offs, and roadmaps to technical and non-technical stakeholders
Requirements
- 8+ years of experience in software engineering, with at least 4+ years in solution or system architecture roles
- Proven experience designing and delivering enterprise-scale, distributed systems
- Deep expertise in AWS architecture, including VPC, ECS/Fargate, API Gateway, Lambda, Step Functions, EventBridge, SNS/SQS, ALB, and CloudFront
- Strong experience designing microservices and event-driven architectures
- Hands-on expertise in data platform architecture, including Snowflake (architecture, RBAC/ABAC, performance optimization), S3-based data lakes, Apache Iceberg, and real-time CDC patterns (AWS DMS, Debezium)
- Solid understanding of security and compliance, including IAM, enterprise SSO, KMS, Secrets Manager, WAF, SOC 2 controls, and data residency requirements (e.g., PIPEDA)
- Experience with Infrastructure as Code (Terraform or CloudFormation)
- Experience designing and supporting CI/CD pipelines (CodePipeline, GitHub Actions, or similar)
- Strong communication skills with the ability to align technical solutions with business objectives
- AWS Solutions Architect certification (Professional preferred)
- Experience designing and operating ML platforms using SageMaker (Pipelines, Feature Store, Model Monitor, Endpoints) (Nice-to-haves)
- Familiarity with Amazon Bedrock and GenAI integration patterns
- Strong understanding of MLOps best practices and production ML lifecycles
- Experience with integration patterns, including REST and GraphQL APIs (OpenAPI 3.0)
- Knowledge of asynchronous messaging, saga patterns, circuit breakers, and resiliency design
- Experience with observability and monitoring tools (CloudWatch, X-Ray, OpenTelemetry, APM dashboards)
- Hands-on experience with cost optimization and FinOps practices (Trusted Advisor, Cost Explorer)
