About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Optimize inventory levels using inventory optimization techniques and partnership with O&M site teams
  • Determine stocking strategies, quantities, and replenishment methodologies
  • Manage inventory reorder for assigned sites
  • Maintain and improve item, manufacturer, part number, and vendor data quality
  • Identify standardization opportunities and low-cost substitutes
  • Provide materials and inventory expertise to cross-functional teams, including sourcing strategies
  • Support Strategic Sourcing with pricing, contract development, and automation opportunities
  • Identify inventory centralization opportunities for common spares
  • Reduce excess material and improve inventory efficiencies
  • Manage inventory system item updates and resolve inventory and non-stock discrepancies
  • Issue and monitor standard and ad hoc inventory reports and trend analyses
  • Ensure inventory items and non-stock material orders meet safety, MSDS, and Hazcom requirements
  • Lead inventory reviews for assigned warehouses and disposition obsolete or unusable parts
  • Optimize repairable items through the repair process
  • Identify freight and delivery cost optimization plans, including salvage material
  • Drive cost savings against approved baselines
  • Lead process and warehouse compliance audits
  • Support operations/maintenance personnel and warehouse attendants with warehouse methods, procedures, and processes

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • 3+ years of warehouse supervision or relevant procurement/inventory management experience
  • Experience with cost reduction and business outcome optimization
  • Process orientation and demonstrated continuous improvement skills
  • Lean and/or Six Sigma experience preferred
  • Strong written and oral communication skills, including negotiation and persuasion
  • Broad-based knowledge of materials management processes
  • Ability to facilitate cross-functional teams
  • Excellent analytical skills for evaluating technical, performance, and financial data
  • Understanding of financial and inventory management systems
  • Intermediate to advanced Microsoft Office capabilities, including PowerPoint, Word, and Excel
  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • College degree programs and/or certifications may apply to the required skills
