About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Develop and lead a comprehensive regional community engagement strategy aligned with NC ROOTS priorities.
  • Build and manage a robust CBO and community partner network across the region.
  • Design mechanisms to capture and integrate community input into Regional Needs Assessment, Hub Action Plan, and ongoing program design and refinement.
  • Work with partners to ensure effective outreach, recruitment, and retention of participants.
  • Track partner engagement, participation, and outcomes.
  • Facilitate alignment between community partners and healthcare providers and systems; public health agencies; and social service organizations.

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • Bachelor’s degree and three (3) years of experience working with community-based organizations or diverse populations, including experience in community engagement, partnership development, program implementation, managing or supporting multi-partner initiatives or networks.
  • Must have a valid driver’s license.
  • Must reside in North Carolina and within Region 5 of Trillium’s catchment area, which includes the following counties: Bladen, Brunswick, Columbus, Cumberland, Harnett, Hoke, Lee, Montgomery, Moore, New Hanover, Pender, Richmond, Robeson, Sampson, and Scotland.
  • Preferred: Master’s degree in Public Health, Public Administration, Social Work, or a related field.
  • Supervision of two (2) or more employees.
  • Experience working in rural communities or North Carolina regions.
  • Experience with grant-funded or publicly funded programs.
  • Familiarity with healthcare systems, Medicaid populations, or public health initiatives.
  • Experience supporting CHW, doula, or community workforce models.
