About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Assist with program planning and development for education, outreach, training, fellowship, workshop, TREX, and ecocultural fire programs
- Develop and distribute promotional materials and program-related communications
- Coordinate and participate in outreach, tabling, and community education events
- Coordinate registration and serve as the main contact for participants and public program inquiries
- Identify program dates and locations and maintain public and internal calendars
- Schedule, participate in, and take notes for program planning meetings
- Assist with curriculum and course agenda development
- Manage program logistics, including tools, supplies, facilities, food, water, curriculum materials, and certificates
- Track budgets and coordinate stipend payments with grant and finance teams
- Create and manage instructor/mentor contracts and assist with travel arrangements and other needs
- Maintain participation and attendance records, document activities through photos and videos, process evaluation surveys, and collect testimonials
- Maintain community relationships, mailing lists, outreach supplies, and event readiness
- Attend staff and team meetings, collaborate across departments, and support office upkeep
- Participate in EcoCultural stewardship work with the TERA crew up to one day per quarter if desired
Requirements
What you’ll need- Bachelor’s degree in education, communications, ecology, natural resource management, or a similar field
- Minimum 2 years of experience supporting Tribal or nonprofit programming in logistics, outreach, education, or stewardship
- Minimum 1 year of experience working with Tribal communities
- Willingness to learn about contemporary challenges, concerns, and interests of the Lake County tribal community and ecology
- Strong writing, storytelling, and communications skills
- Expertise with Google Suite, including Mail, Calendar, Docs, Sheets, and Drive
- Expertise with Microsoft Office Suite, including Word and Excel
- Expertise with Adobe Acrobat
- Experience with videoconferencing tools such as Zoom and Meet
- Ability to learn new software and technology
- Cultural competency, humility, self-awareness, and willingness to learn
- Commitment to cross-cultural work as a bridge builder
- Ability to listen well and give and receive direct, honest, and constructive feedback
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively
- Strong work ethic, reliability, accountability, flexibility, and adaptability

- Optional/desirable: Working knowledge of Pomo languages or Native language revitalization

- Optional/desirable: 1+ years of community engagement and outreach experience
- Optional/desirable: 1+ years of digital communications, storytelling, and/or media production experience
