About the role
- Hire trains and oversees inventory and warehouse employees.
- Establish set guidelines/procedures for each location.
- Manage inventory tracking systems to record deliveries, shipments, and stock levels.
- Launch new warehouses.
- Collaborates with warehouse managers ensuring they follow proper procedures.
- Coordinate weekly audits w/ each site remotely.
- Coordinate and validate full audit on each warehouse quarterly.
- Execute inventory analysis; identifies and resolves discrepancies and problems.
- Communicate with warehouse managers to meet business goals and address personnel issues.
- Oversees stock item master, identifying incorrect descriptions and stock numbers.
- Locates items that may have incorrect locations or stock numbers to assist order processors.
- Evaluates deliveries, shipments, and product levels to improve inventory control procedures.
- Analyzes daily product and supply levels to anticipate inventory problems and shortages.
- Manages schedules of employees, deliveries, and shipments to optimize operations and covers vacations.
- Develop business relationships with suppliers and clients.
- Propose strategies to reduce costs and improve procedures of supply chain logistics.
- Monitors demand and analyzes data to anticipate future supply and logistical needs.
- Reports on inventory levels, supply chain progress, procedural efficiency, and personnel issues to upper management.
- Manages the recruitment and training of new inventory employees.
- Contributes to team effort by accomplishing related results as needed.
- Ensures milestones and goals are met.
- Ensures adherence to approved budget.
- Performs and assists with general maintenance and cleanup of warehouse.
- Operates forklift as needed.
- Performs additional related duties as assigned.
Requirements
- Degree in business, logistics, systems engineering, supply chain management or similar.
- Minimum of five years of experience in a related area required.
- Located in a major city on East coast or Central United States
- At least one year of supervisory experience is preferred.
- Experience working with inventory management software and forecasting strategies.
- Experience conducting tracking and data analysis.
- Product and inventory management certification a plus.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Excellent interpersonal skills and attention to detail.
- Thorough understanding of inventory policies and procedures.
- Prolonged periods sitting at a desk and working on a computer.
- Must be able to lift up to 15 pounds at times.
