About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- The Head Start Director has the primary responsibility for coordinating, assuring effective implementation and evaluation of services designed to meet the needs of children and families participating in Head Start Programs.
- Under the direction of the Chief Executive Officer, markets, promotes and represents Tri-Valley's programs and services within the Head Start community.
- Ensures transparent communication and collaboration with others to reach sound business decisions that support optimal program services, work environment, and stewards of program funding.
- Helps recruit potential parents by providing information about the various program services and benefits offered to enrolled children and families.
- Responsible for programmatic oversight and leadership, including creating vision and strategic plans, developing problem-solving strategies, and managing budget systems.
- Ensures quality services are provided by staff, monitors performance, and conducts training.
Requirements
What you’ll need- Bachelor degree in Early Childhood Education, Public Administration, Health Administration or closely related human service field.
- Three years of increasing levels of responsibilities in the areas of program design and development, fiscal management and administration.
- Three years of experience supervising others.
- Excellent communications skills, verbal and written.
- Comfortable working with computers, willing and able to learn program-specific systems as needed for the position.
- Experience in strategic planning that involved different stakeholder groups.
- One year experience in researching funding sources.
- Two years of experience preparing proposals and understanding of contractual language.
- Two years of experience creating and managing budgets.
- One year experience in marketing, public relations, public speaking or training in a group setting.
- Proof of valid driver’s license and current/adequate vehicle insurance coverage.
