We are seeking a reliable, highly skilled **Web Developer** to take ownership of our website functionality, maintenance, and future digital initiatives.
The Web Developer will manage and maintain the company website, ensuring it runs smoothly and efficiently.
They will handle bugs, site updates, plugin management, and performance optimization.
In addition, this person will lead development projects related to expanding membership tiers and assist in planning and building a new lesson-planning and management software product scheduled for release in 2026.
This is a part-time, hourly position with project-based work and ongoing monthly maintenance.
Requirements
**Key Responsibilities**
- Perform monthly website maintenance and ensure all WordPress, WooCommerce, and plugin updates function correctly.
- Monitor site uptime, troubleshoot bugs, and respond quickly to outages or technical issues.
- Collaborate with the internal team to design and implement new membership tiers (free, monthly, quarterly, annual).
- Build and refine landing pages, checkout flows, and user dashboards that improve user experience and conversions.
- Manage integrations with payment processors, email marketing platforms, and analytics tools.
- Optimize site speed, SEO structure, and overall performance.
- Support and lead the development of new proprietary lesson-planning and management software (potentially built outside WordPress).
- Maintain strong communication on timelines, deliverables, and technical considerations.
**Qualifications**
- **Required**
- 3+ years of professional experience in web development.
- Advanced proficiency with AWS, WordPress, WooCommerce, PHP, HTML, CSS, JavaScript, and MySQL.
- Experience managing hosting environments (BigScoots or similar).
- Strong understanding of WordPress architecture, hooks, and custom development.
- Proven track record of solving technical problems quickly and efficiently.
- Excellent communication skills and ability to meet deadlines.

- Experience developing custom membership or subscription systems.
- Familiarity with building or integrating SaaS products.
- Knowledge of server-side maintenance and optimization.
- UI/UX design understanding for implementing modern, user-friendly layouts.
- Experience with version control (Git) and deployment workflows.
