About the role
- We are seeking a detailed and proactive Legal Services Compliance Specialist to join our Legal & Compliance team, supporting licensing and general insurance compliance functions.
- The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of insurance regulations and a passion for ensuring regulatory adherence.
- Key Responsibilities:
- Assist with day-to-day compliance activities across various lines of insurance.
- Monitor regulatory developments and provide actionable insights to support timely implementation of necessary compliance changes.
- Manage several state and municipal licenses
- Support audits, regulatory filings, and other compliance-related projects.
- Help develop and maintain compliance policies, procedures, and training materials.
- Communicate with adjusters, producers, program partners, and vendors regarding the producer appointment system and process.
- Prepare and file informational reports with state departments as needed.
- Assist in preparing and filing NAIC applications.
- File license applications and renewals ensuring timely and accurate processing.
- Perform other activities, duties, and assignments as needed or requested.
Requirements
- Paralegal degree or certificate
- Bachelor’s degree in Legal Studies, Insurance, or related field
- 2+ years of experience in insurance compliance, regulatory affairs, in-house legal department or a related role
- Strong understanding of insurance products and regulatory frameworks
- Excellent communication, analytical, and organizational skills
- Ability to manage multiple priorities and work independently
