About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Provide on-demand and proactive field medical support tailored to organizational needs
- Conduct fair-balanced, on-label scientific discussions and respond to unsolicited requests
- Escalate complex inquiries to Medical Information as needed
- Deliver medical presentations to physicians, pharmacists, nurses, and other audiences
- Provide short-term KOL, institution, and account coverage
- Maintain territory relationships and update territory plans for transition back to MSLs
- Deliver compliant medical education for priority topics including disease state, MOA, and safety/REMS
- Maintain knowledge of scientific literature, treatment landscapes, and emerging rare kidney disease data
- Provide scientific presence and logistical coordination at regional and national congresses
- Document HCP insights, medical trends, and unmet needs
- Record interactions in CRM within 48 hours and follow Medical and Compliance guardrails
- Contribute to planning, coordination, and implementation of medical projects
Requirements
What you’ll need- Advanced degree in a relevant scientific discipline strongly preferred, such as PharmD, MD/DO, PhD, PA, or NP
- Equivalent combination of education and applicable job experience may be considered
- 2+ years of MSL experience in the pharmaceutical/biotech industry; relevant clinical or academic experience may be considered
- Experience in nephrology or rare disease, particularly IgAN or FSGS, strongly preferred
- Experience working with KOLs, medical congresses, and cross-functional matrix teams
- Deep scientific expertise in assigned molecules/products and therapeutic areas
- Strong scientific acumen and ability to engage in peer-to-peer dialogue with KOLs on complex medical topics
- Excellent communication and presentation skills
- Ability to synthesize and communicate scientific information in a compliant, balanced, and engaging manner
- Strategic thinking, collaboration, project management, organizational skills, and proactive problem-solving
- Knowledge of FDA guidelines and regulations, PhRMA Code, and other compliance and industry standards
- Proficiency with CRM systems such as Veeva, standard field reporting, and virtual engagement tools
- Professional conduct, collaboration, integrity, and ability to foster a positive team environment
- Must live in the assigned territory
- Ability to travel up to 60–80%
- Ability to travel to regional and national meetings as assigned
- Some evening and weekend work may be required
