About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Automate testing of core back-end code and services.
- Improve and refactor existing code to increase configurability and isolation.
- Research, read and understand API specifications and technical documentation.
- Design, implement and maintain automated test cases and test suites.
- Identify opportunities to improve testing efficiency, coverage and release quality.
- Design, build and maintain scalable test automation frameworks for API applications.
- Develop and execute automated test scripts to validate software functionality, performance and reliability.
- Integrate automated tests into CI/CD pipelines such as Jenkins and GitHub Actions.
- Identify, analyse and document software defects while working closely with development and QA teams.
- Monitor test results, troubleshoot automation issues and maintain existing test frameworks and scripts.
- Update and expand automated test suites to support new features and evolving business requirements.
Requirements
What you’ll need- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, STEM or equivalent hands on experience.
- Solid proficiency coding in Java.
- Ability to design, develop and maintain JUnit tests within an existing codebase.
- Experience testing APIs and back-end services.
- Knowledge of test logging, reporting and debugging tools.
- Experience with modern test automation tools such as Selenium WebDriver, Playwright or similar.
- Strong analytical, problem-solving and numerical abilities.
- Ability to work effectively with developers and QA teams in a collaborative environment.
