Key responsibilities & impact

Automate testing of core back-end code and services.
Improve and refactor existing code to increase configurability and isolation, enabling more effective automated test suites.
Research, read and understand API specifications and technical documentation.
Design, implement and maintain automated test cases and test suites.
Identify opportunities to improve testing efficiency, coverage and release quality.
Design, build and maintain scalable test automation frameworks for API applications.
Develop and execute automated test scripts to validate software functionality, performance and reliability.
Integrate automated tests into CI/CD pipelines such as Jenkins and GitHub Actions to support continuous testing and rapid deployment.
Identify, analyse and document software defects while working closely with development and QA teams to improve software testability.
Monitor test results, troubleshoot automation issues and maintain existing test frameworks and scripts.
Update and expand automated test suites to support new features and evolving business requirements.

Requirements

What you’ll need

Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, STEM or equivalent hands on experience.
Solid hands-on proficiency coding in Java.
Ability to design, develop and maintain JUnit tests within an existing codebase.
Experience testing APIs and back-end services.
Knowledge of test logging, reporting and debugging tools.
Experience with modern test automation tools such as Selenium WebDriver, Playwright or similar.
Strong analytical, problem-solving and numerical abilities.
Ability to work effectively with developers and QA teams in a collaborative environment.
