About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Assist in developing and executing sales strategies to grow and manage a portfolio of business.
- Support business development efforts within the assigned territory by leveraging performance metrics to assist in the creation of annual plans.
- Conduct agency diagnostics to assess performance and identify development opportunities.
- Facilitate agency appointments and support the development of new agency relationships.
- Engage in office visits (in-person and virtual) to build rapport and strengthen relationships with agency partners.
- May learn to identify and pre-qualify new customer accounts and new agent distribution opportunities.
- Learn to influence agency partners by developing Travelers' product, underwriting, and sales knowledge.
- Collaborate with internal teams to align sales strategies with overall business objectives.
- Develop knowledge of competitor products and capabilities.
- Utilize data and analytics for sales decisions and performance tracking, and learn to utilize automation tools to support sales while staying updated on Travelers systems.
- Leverage AI technologies to optimize industry processes, enhance decision-making, and drive innovation, while continuously learning and adapting to emerging AI trends and tools.
Requirements
What you’ll need- Bachelor's degree in sales, marketing, business or related field.
- Two or more years of sales or related insurance experience.
- Certified Insurance Counselor (CIC) (or willingness to pursue).
- Knowledge of Travelers products and general Property & Casualty marketplace.
- Demonstrated influencing and negotiation skills.
- Ability to collaboratively build and maintain relationships with internal and external partners.
- Analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to define goals and priorities and meet these goals in a timely manner.
- Organizational skills to manage multiple tasks and priorities to meet sales goals and deadlines.
- One year experience in sales, sales support, operations or relevant insurance field.
