About the role

  • Provide actuarial support for Select CMP within Small Commercial Analytics.
  • Oversee profitability reporting and lead the annual Plan process and quarterly updates.
  • Partner with Product Management on portfolio initiatives and Actuarial Product to support Rate Adequacy.
  • Implement actuarial/statistical techniques including reserving, rate making, pricing, planning/forecasting, project management, and research.
  • Execute strategic and operational initiatives, drive change, and provide analytical insights and recommendations to leadership and business partners.
  • Share ownership of the business's financial results and work within broad limits on complex assignments.
  • May manage a small team: acquisition, retention, development, performance management, and mentoring of staff.
  • Translate business requests into analytical solutions and communicate technical topics to non-technical audiences.
  • Participate in enterprise initiatives and promote process improvements and innovation.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree required (College degree in STEM related field preferred).
  • Associate Actuarial Credential preferred.
  • Minimum of 4 years of experience performing quantitative analysis required (7+ years preferred for ideal candidate).
  • Strong understanding of insurance products and industry.
  • Demonstrated ability in actuarial and quantitative analysis and statistical concepts.
  • Management experience and experience leading teams.
  • Excellent communication, collaboration and relationship-building skills.
  • Ability to present and translate complex information in relevant business terms.
  • Strong PC skills (MS Office) and programming skills (e.g., SQL, SAS).
  • Broad business knowledge across underwriting, products, reinsurance, distribution, sales, operations, risk control, claims, and financials.
