About the role

Travelers Data Integration teams provide scalable platform for constructing self-serve data pipelines that contextualize and provide easy access to data by the entire enterprise
Ensure Travelers has the necessary data to grow and transform our analytic landscape; design, build and deploy data solutions that capture, ingest, explore, transform, and utilize data to support AI, ML and business intelligence/insights
Build and operationalize complex data pipelines, correct problems, create self-serve platforms, and recommend newer features
Design complex and scalable solutions and incorporate core data engineering competencies including data ingestion, data security and data quality
Collaborate within and across teams to support delivery and educate end users on complex data products and engineering environment
Perform other duties as assigned for support and enhancements

Bachelor’s Degree in STEM related field or equivalent
Eight years of related experience
Experience with building robust data pipelines and working with large-scale datasets
Highly proficient with tools and techniques including Cloud platforms (e.g. AWS, Databricks), Enterprise Data Integration Tools (e.g. Ab Initio, Glue), and programming languages
Full understanding of modern software engineering practices
Passion for continuous improvement, automation, optimization and delivering high-quality data solutions
Ability to deliver work at a steady, predictable pace, release in small batches, and identify and negotiate important tradeoffs
Demonstrated track record of domain expertise and knowledge of adjacent systems
Strong problem solving skills and focus on building systems with longevity
Strong written and verbal communication skills and ability to collaborate with team members and business partners
Ability to lead team members and create a safe environment for others to learn and grow as engineers
Proven track record of self-motivation in identifying opportunities and tracking team efforts
Must have: Bachelor’s degree or equivalent training with data tools, techniques, and manipulation
Must have: Four years of data engineering or equivalent experience
