About the role

  • Support firewall rule request approvals and orchestration, intrusion prevention systems, and web proxy/internet content filtering technologies
  • Help support web application firewall both on-premises and in the cloud
  • Participate in transition to cloud-native solutions and zero trust architectures
  • Investigate, identify, and resolve cybersecurity incidents and remediate within SLAs
  • Provide consultation and support across cybersecurity platforms; ensure correct installation, configuration and maintenance
  • Troubleshoot issues and consult on platform enhancements with Cybersecurity Operations teams
  • Participate in well-scoped projects including analysis, assessment, and resolution of cybersecurity platforms and products
  • Support security controls across multiple tools and manage configuration and distribution across systems
  • Monitor, alert, and troubleshoot platform incidents; research problems, implement policy management, document, and remediate
  • Consult with business customers on software, education, and performance testing
  • Work on coding, scripting, and automating basic to intermediate tasks; update policy and perform maintenance upgrades
  • Perform other duties as assigned

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, similar degree or its equivalent in work experience
  • 2 years of experience in Information Technology Security Engineering or Software engineering
  • Degree or certificate in Cybersecurity (preferred)
  • 3 years of experience in Information Technology Security Engineering or Software engineering (ideal)
  • Programming experience is a plus
  • Hands on experience with Cloud computing and automation concepts
  • Experience with system, network, and OS hardening techniques
  • Knowledge of cybersecurity privacy principles, cyber threats and vulnerabilities, and cyber defense and information security policies, procedures, and regulations
  • Ability to apply cybersecurity and privacy principles such as confidentiality, integrity, authentication, and non-repudiation
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills with strong attention to detail
  • Strong organizational and time management skills with the ability to handle shifting priorities
