About the role
- Support firewall rule request approvals and orchestration, intrusion prevention systems, and web proxy/internet content filtering technologies
- Help support web application firewall both on-premises and in the cloud
- Participate in transition to cloud-native solutions and zero trust architectures
- Investigate, identify, and resolve cybersecurity incidents and remediate within SLAs
- Provide consultation and support across cybersecurity platforms; ensure correct installation, configuration and maintenance
- Troubleshoot issues and consult on platform enhancements with Cybersecurity Operations teams
- Participate in well-scoped projects including analysis, assessment, and resolution of cybersecurity platforms and products
- Support security controls across multiple tools and manage configuration and distribution across systems
- Monitor, alert, and troubleshoot platform incidents; research problems, implement policy management, document, and remediate
- Consult with business customers on software, education, and performance testing
- Work on coding, scripting, and automating basic to intermediate tasks; update policy and perform maintenance upgrades
- Perform other duties as assigned
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, similar degree or its equivalent in work experience
- 2 years of experience in Information Technology Security Engineering or Software engineering
- Degree or certificate in Cybersecurity (preferred)
- 3 years of experience in Information Technology Security Engineering or Software engineering (ideal)
- Programming experience is a plus
- Hands on experience with Cloud computing and automation concepts
- Experience with system, network, and OS hardening techniques
- Knowledge of cybersecurity privacy principles, cyber threats and vulnerabilities, and cyber defense and information security policies, procedures, and regulations
- Ability to apply cybersecurity and privacy principles such as confidentiality, integrity, authentication, and non-repudiation
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills with strong attention to detail
- Strong organizational and time management skills with the ability to handle shifting priorities
