Director of Business Development

About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Identify and target unionized hospitals and health systems by conducting market research, leveraging industry intelligence, and building a pipeline of qualified opportunities aligned with growth goals.
- Establish and develop relationships with executive-level stakeholders including Chief Nursing Officers, Vice Presidents of Operations, and Labor Relations leaders.
- Develop and execute outreach strategies to engage prospective clients, including direct outreach, networking, and leveraging industry connections.
- Secure meetings and introductions for RapidStaff leadership, ensuring smooth transition from initial engagement to presentations, proposals, and contract discussions.
- Gather and share insights on market trends, competitor activity, and client needs to inform business strategy and positioning.
- Track outreach activity, pipeline progress, and client interactions within CRM systems to ensure visibility and accountability.
- Partner with internal teams to align client strategy, messaging, and solution development.
- Represent RapidStaff at conferences, events, and networking opportunities to build brand presence and generate leads.

Requirements
What you’ll need- 5–7+ years of experience in healthcare staffing, workforce solutions, or healthcare business development
- Strong understanding of hospital operations and labor environments
- Demonstrated experience engaging with executive-level healthcare stakeholders
- Proven ability to build relationships and generate new business opportunities
- Strong communication skills and executive presence
- Ability to operate independently in a field-based, performance-driven environment
- Ability to travel up to 25%
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Outlook, Word, Excel
- Ability to effectively work in a fast-paced and complex environment and maintain a sense of urgency
- Ability to build and maintain productive working relationships with cross-functional coworkers
- Will accept any suitable combination of education, training, and experience.
