About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Develop and execute the enterprise-wide safety strategy supporting more than 160+ resorts and operational facilities.
  • Serve as the organization's primary subject matter expert for occupational health and safety matters.
  • Establish corporate safety standards, policies, procedures, and best practices aligned with company objectives and hospitality industry standards.
  • Lead the evolution of a world-class behavioral-based safety program focused on prevention, accountability, and engagement.
  • Champion a culture where safety is viewed as a core organizational value rather than a compliance requirement.
  • Ensure compliance with all applicable OSHA, federal, state, provincial, and local safety regulations.
  • Monitor regulatory changes and drive implementation of new requirements across the portfolio.
  • Lead enterprise safety audits, assessments, inspections, and compliance reviews.
  • Identify trends, gaps, and risk exposures and implement corrective action plans.
  • Partner with Legal, Risk Management, and Operations to mitigate organizational safety risks.
  • Own the development, implementation, and continuous improvement of enterprise safety training programs.
  • Create scalable learning solutions for associates, leaders, and resort teams.
  • Ensure safety education programs are engaging, measurable, and aligned with operational realities.
  • Support leadership development through safety coaching and field-based mentoring.
  • Drive organizational awareness of safety responsibilities through targeted communication and education campaigns.
  • Conduct onsite resort visits to evaluate safety performance, identify opportunities, and provide coaching.
  • Bridge operational and cultural gaps by translating safety requirements into practical and sustainable solutions.
  • Support incident investigations, root cause analyses, and corrective action implementation.
  • Provide real-time guidance during critical safety events and operational challenges.
  • Collaborate with corporate hospitality safety leaders and external industry partners to identify emerging trends and best practices.
  • Analyze incident, injury, and claim trends to drive data-informed decision-making.
  • Measure effectiveness of safety initiatives and recommend improvements.
  • Present performance updates, strategic recommendations, and risk assessments to executive leadership.

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • Bachelor's degree in occupational safety, Environmental Health & Safety, Risk Management, Hospitality Management, Business, or related field.
  • 7+ years of progressive safety leadership experience.
  • 5+ years leading enterprise, multi-site, or large-scale safety programs.
  • Strong knowledge of OSHA regulations and hospitality industry safety practices.
  • Experience developing and implementing behavioral-based safety programs.
  • Proven success leading audits, investigations, and compliance initiatives.
  • Experience influencing senior leaders and field operations teams.
  • Ability to travel extensively throughout North America.
  • CSP (Certified Safety Professional) preferred.
  • ASP (Associate Safety Professional) preferred.
  • CHSP (Certified Healthcare Safety Professional) or similar designation preferred.
  • Hospitality, vacation ownership, hotel, resort, or multi-unit operational experience a plus.
  • Experience supporting large, geographically dispersed workforces preferred.
