About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Identify, prospect, and close new business opportunities in the government sector, specifically public transit
  • Manage complex sales cycles with medium to large transit agencies and government organizations
  • Identify and qualify leads through cold calling, networking, industry events, and partnerships
  • Maintain sales activities, opportunities, and pipeline records in Salesforce
  • Provide leadership with updates on sales progress, forecasts, and metrics
  • Build and maintain long-term relationships with key stakeholders in assigned accounts
  • Use value-based selling to communicate Trapeze Workforce Management’s differentiators
  • Lead contract and pricing negotiations while complying with procurement guidelines
  • Create tailored proposals with internal teams aligned to agency specifications and contract requirements
  • Collaborate with product, marketing, and customer success teams to support implementations and customer retention

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • Minimum of 2–5 years of successful sales experience in the SaaS or technology space
  • Experience with government contracts and procurement is a plus
  • Proven focus on driving new revenue growth and uncovering opportunities
  • Strong account management skills to drive additional revenue within existing accounts
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Ability to present to and influence senior decision-makers
  • Ability to work independently remotely and in a team environment with regular cross-department communication
  • Positive attitude, self-motivated, organized, and innovative
  • Comfort with technology solutions and ability to learn and adapt to new software and tools quickly
  • Bachelor’s degree in Business, Marketing, or a related field, or equivalent work experience
  • Willingness to travel as needed, 30–50%, for client meetings, industry events, and conferences
