About the role
- Support both project-based and operational purchasing activities for an industrial fabrication facility
- Source and purchase materials and services supporting ASME pressure vessel fabrication
- Review drawings, BOMs, and specifications to develop purchasing packages
- Support operational purchasing including raw materials, consumables, and shop services
- Issue RFQs, analyze pricing and lead times, and place purchase orders
- Track supplier lead times and delivery commitments
- Communicate delays, shortages, and recovery plans to internal stakeholders
- Work with approved suppliers and assist in identifying new vendors
- Collaborate with Engineering, Project Management, Production, Maintenance, and Materials
Requirements
- 3–8 years of procurement or purchasing experience in industrial fabrication, pressure vessels, piping, or heavy manufacturing
- Experience supporting both project-based procurement and day-to-day operational purchasing
- Ability to interpret fabrication drawings, BOMs, material specifications, and customer requirements
- Experience working in ERP and purchasing systems such as Visual, Epicor, SAP, or similar
