About the role
- Set the technical direction for how transport corridors function as integrated systems
- Lead a team of engineers and specialists
- Apply a corridor-wide engineering lens to ensure assets interact safely, reliably and sustainably across modes
- Provide authoritative guidance on the development, maintenance and application of standards and specifications
- Assess the performance of Technical Assurance Organisations (TAOs) and manage concessions or deviations from standards
- Resolve technical and operational issues and advise on the adoption of emerging technologies
- Represent Transport for NSW in cross-modal forums and contribute to harmonisation initiatives
- Champion a corridor-wide mindset that brings together hydrology, drainage, pavements and associated infrastructure
- Foster collaboration, mentoring your team and engaging with stakeholders
Requirements
- Extensive experience in corridor infrastructure or comparable multi-modal transport environments
- Proven ability to provide strategic oversight across interacting asset classes such as roads, rail, drainage and pavement systems
- Experience developing professional standards, specifications, guidelines or governance frameworks
- Strong record in applying technical knowledge in an integrated, lifecycle outcomes-focused manner
- Tertiary qualifications in a relevant technical discipline
- Engineering registration
- Experience leading technical teams
- Generalist thinker capable of synthesising complex information
