About the role

  • Set the technical direction for how transport corridors function as integrated systems
  • Lead a team of engineers and specialists
  • Apply a corridor-wide engineering lens to ensure assets interact safely, reliably and sustainably across modes
  • Provide authoritative guidance on the development, maintenance and application of standards and specifications
  • Assess the performance of Technical Assurance Organisations (TAOs) and manage concessions or deviations from standards
  • Resolve technical and operational issues and advise on the adoption of emerging technologies
  • Represent Transport for NSW in cross-modal forums and contribute to harmonisation initiatives
  • Champion a corridor-wide mindset that brings together hydrology, drainage, pavements and associated infrastructure
  • Foster collaboration, mentoring your team and engaging with stakeholders

Requirements

  • Extensive experience in corridor infrastructure or comparable multi-modal transport environments
  • Proven ability to provide strategic oversight across interacting asset classes such as roads, rail, drainage and pavement systems
  • Experience developing professional standards, specifications, guidelines or governance frameworks
  • Strong record in applying technical knowledge in an integrated, lifecycle outcomes-focused manner
  • Tertiary qualifications in a relevant technical discipline
  • Engineering registration
  • Experience leading technical teams
  • Generalist thinker capable of synthesising complex information
