About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Perform full-cycle game localization and translation for a flagship mobile gaming account
- Localize in-game UI, storylines, character dialogue, and marketing copy
- Perform linguistic LQA
- Polish narratives and adapt content cross-culturally
- Participate in creative brainstorming with game teams
- Complete information verification, NDA signing, qualification sample test, and onboarding
- Work 40 hours per week, Monday through Friday, during core business hours
Requirements
What you’ll need- Hands-on game localization experience
- Native or near-native English speaker
- Simplified Chinese to English language pair
- Minimum one of: a degree in Translation, Linguistics, or Language Studies (or equivalent with significant translation training); 2+ years of translation experience plus a college degree; 5+ years of translation experience with no degree required; or a translation certification issued by an appropriate government body
- Ability to work core business hours
- Availability for 40 hours/week, Monday–Friday
- Willingness to sign a confidentiality agreement
- Ability to complete a short unpaid qualification assessment test
- Gaming translation and localization experience, including gaming genres, partial client lists, and estimated word count
- Latest CV required
