About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Perform full-cycle game localization and translation from Simplified Chinese into English
- Localize in-game UI, storylines, character dialogue, and marketing copy
- Conduct linguistic LQA
- Polish narratives and adapt content cross-culturally
- Brainstorm creatively with game teams
- Complete information verification, NDA signing, qualification sample test, and onboarding
- Work 40 hours per week, Monday through Friday, during core business hours
Requirements
What you’ll need- Hands-on game localization experience
- Native or near-native English speaker
- ZHCN → EN language-pair expertise
- Minimum qualification through one of the following: degree in Translation, Linguistics, or Language Studies with significant translation training; 2+ years of translation experience plus a college degree; 5+ years of translation experience without a degree; or a translation certification issued by an appropriate government body
- Ability to work core business hours remotely
- Availability for 40 hours/week, Monday–Friday, 8 hours/day
- Gaming translation/localization experience, including gaming genres, partial client lists, and estimated word count
- Ability to sign a confidentiality agreement
- Ability to complete a short unpaid qualification assessment/translation test
- Simplified Chinese proficiency at native or bilingual, fluent, or intermediate level
- English proficiency at native or bilingual, near-native, or fluent level
