About the role
- Develop and maintain detailed project schedules for drilling campaigns, rig modifications, maintenance programs, and capital projects.
- Translate engineering deliverables and technical requirements into integrated project plans.
- Support preparation of work breakdown structures (WBS), project scope, and milestone tracking.
- Ensure proper sequencing of activities across engineering, procurement, construction, and offshore operations.
- Monitor project progress against baselines, identify deviations, and recommend corrective actions.
- Perform schedule analysis including critical path and risk assessments.
- Support cost control and resource planning by providing input on manpower, equipment, and materials.
- Maintain accurate reporting of project performance metrics.
- Collaborate with engineering, drilling, maintenance, and operations teams to align schedules with rig readiness.
- Coordinate with supply chain to ensure timely delivery of long-lead equipment and critical spare parts.
- Support planning of rig mobilization, inspections, and dry-docking activities.
- Identify potential risks and constraints related to engineering, design, or execution.
- Evaluate schedule and cost impacts of scope changes or emergent maintenance.
- Participate in contingency planning and recovery strategies.
- Ensure planning activities incorporate HSE (Health, Safety & Environmental) standards and regulatory requirements.
- Schedule inspections, certifications, and regulatory audits to maintain compliance.
- Support engineering and QHSE teams in implementing safe and reliable project execution.
- Prepare project status reports, dashboards, and technical progress updates for management and clients.
- Document lessons learned and contribute to continuous improvement of planning processes.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in engineering (Mechanical, Electrical, Marine, or equivalent).
- 3–6 years of experience in project planning, scheduling, or project engineering within offshore drilling, oil & gas, or heavy industry.
- Proficiency with planning and scheduling software (Primavera P6, MS Project, SAP Project Systems).
- Strong analytical, organizational, and critical thinking skills.
- Knowledge of offshore drilling operations, asset maintenance, and class/regulatory requirements preferred.
- Strong communication skills with ability to work in cross-functional teams.
