Business Consultant

About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Coordinate onboarding for new 401(k), profit sharing, defined contribution, and ESOP clients as assigned.
- Gather required data and set up new clients in internal systems.
- Ensure a smooth handoff from Sales to Onboarding to Plan Administration team.
- Partner with advisors, CPAs, recordkeepers, and investment companies to execute onboarding tasks.
- Monitor onboarding timelines, proactively addressing delays, risks, or missing information.
- Coordinate investment company conversions for existing clients.
- Prepare, review, and deliver plan documents, amendments, and restatements.
- Ensure compliance with IRS, DOL, ERISA, and SECURE/SECURE 2.0 requirements.
- Collaborate with internal technical experts on regulatory updates and document changes.
- Welcome new clients and referral sources, reinforcing Blue Ridge’s value and service model.
- Participate in client and advisor discussions to support onboarding and document needs.
- Follow established workflows to ensure consistency, quality, and compliance.
- Identify opportunities to improve processes, tools, and client experience.
- Provide timely, professional communication to clients, advisors, and internal partners.
Requirements
What you’ll need- 3–5+ years of experience in retirement plan administration (TPA experience required)
- Strong knowledge of 401(k) plan design and compliance requirements
- Experience reviewing a variety of documents, including complex and customized plan documents
- Knowledge of onboarding processes
- Strong organizational and time management skills
- High attention to detail and accuracy
- Must be able to provide and maintain a distraction-free work environment, a professional workspace, and reliable high-speed internet connection.
- Preferred QKA, QKC, or other ASPPA credentials (or progress toward certification)
- Experience with FT William document software
- Experience working with various recordkeeping platforms
