About the role

Key responsibilities & impact

Support all aspects of the General Ledger and prepare and report financial statements
Analyze and reconcile complex financial data to ensure applicable regulations and accounting procedures are observed
Review accounting, internal control, and departmental procedures to improve compliance, efficiency, accuracy, and consistency
Identify trends or anomalies in accounting system transactions and evaluate their significance
Address matters within assigned authority and refer other matters to higher-level authority
Prepare reports of findings and act as an internal consultant for unusual or complex accounting issues
Assist with compliance activities, including tax filing and cost report preparation
Plan and carry out timely, efficient, and accurate month-end General Ledger closing activities
Track, coordinate, and post journal entries while ensuring segregation of duties and approvals
Prepare monthly balance sheet reconciliations for assigned facilities
Prepare reports, worksheets, analyses, documentation, and supporting schedules for auditors, tax returns, and regulatory agencies
Serve as the main point of contact and provide accounting support to executive directors and department heads
Monitor and analyze department work to develop more efficient procedures and resource use
Perform general payroll functions as needed
Perform general fixed asset management as needed
Promote Transforming Age's Mission, Vision, Values, Culture of Excellence, and strategic goals
Perform other duties as assigned

Requirements

What you’ll need

BS/BA in accounting, finance, or a relevant field is preferred
At least 5 years of accounting and financial reporting experience
Working knowledge of GAAP and regulations
Multi-state tax accounting experience
Excellent knowledge of accounting and financial processes, including audit preparation, budgeting, and reporting
3 or more years as a public accountant strongly preferred
CPA strongly preferred
Knowledge of healthcare preferred
Workday experience is a plus
