Perform design and analysis for deliverables.
Lead large team design sessions for system level architecture solutions.
Serve as a subject matter expert for a wide range of areas, applications, and technologies; mentor other team members in design/coding standards.
Lead analysis and general architectural design across platforms toward the development of end-to-end solutions.
Lead development staff, including contract and off-shore developers.
Prepare presentations and lead development meetings.
Recommend solutions which take into consideration costs, business needs, and system impacts.
Develop, test, implement, and document mainframe-based solutions to address business requirements.
Participate on committees or projects to help define organization-wide standards, processes, and guidelines.
Learn and keep pace with the latest advances in the field and rapidly grasp new technologies to support the environment and contribute to project deliverables.

Requirements

Bachelor’s degree in computer science, information systems, math, engineering, or other technical field, or equivalent education/experience.
Five years of experience in mainframe technologies – COBOL, JCL, Ezytrieve, Rexx and CICS.
Advanced proficiency and subject-matter expertise in wmA, Vantage-One, and Distribution Support System (DSS) administrative platforms.
Experience with Schedulers/SCM/Debug: Control-M, Endevor/Changeman, Xpeditor, Abend-Aid, File Manager, IDCAMS, ICETOOL/SORT.
Three years of experience and expertise in database design techniques and philosophies in DB2, VSAM and Oracle.
Familiarity with designing, implementing and maintaining REST/JSON APIs that front CICS programs/transactions via z/OS Connect EE.
Hands-on ITIL/ITSM experience (Incident, Problem, Change, Request, Knowledge).
Experience in optimizing batch processing cycles to meet or exceed nightly, month-end, and quarter-end SLA commitments.
