About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Install, commission, maintain, inspect, and repair cooling and temperature control equipment at customer locations
  • Diagnose mechanical, electrical, and control system issues and implement corrective actions
  • Conduct preventive maintenance to maximize equipment uptime and reliability
  • Respond to service calls and provide technical support in the field
  • Complete service reports, maintenance documentation, and job records accurately and promptly
  • Communicate equipment condition, service recommendations, and follow-up actions to customers
  • Ensure compliance with company safety standards, customer site requirements, and applicable regulations
  • Support equipment testing, startup, and operational verification after repairs or installations
  • Maintain service tools, test instruments, and company vehicle
  • Collaborate with operations, technical support, and customer service teams
  • Identify service improvement opportunities and communicate customer feedback to management

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • High school diploma or equivalent required
  • Technical diploma, associate degree, or trade certification preferred
  • Experience in field service, HVAC, refrigeration, industrial cooling, or related mechanical/electrical service environments
  • Working knowledge of mechanical, electrical, and control systems
  • Ability to read technical manuals, wiring diagrams, and service documentation
  • Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills
  • Valid driver’s license and willingness to travel to customer sites as needed
  • Ability to work independently with limited supervision
  • Strong communication and customer service skills
  • Proficiency with service reporting tools, mobile devices, or basic computer systems
  • Experience servicing rental cooling equipment, chillers, HVAC systems, or industrial temperature control solutions preferred
  • Familiarity with refrigerant handling and applicable safety/environmental requirements preferred
  • Relevant certifications in HVAC, refrigeration, electrical systems, or safety training preferred
  • Experience working in customer-facing industrial or commercial environments preferred
  • Understanding of commissioning and startup procedures preferred
  • Ability to lift and move tools, parts, and equipment within established safety guidelines
  • Ability to work in indoor and outdoor environments, including varying temperatures and weather conditions
  • Ability to stand, walk, bend, kneel, climb ladders, and work in confined or elevated spaces as needed
  • Ability to travel frequently based on service territory and customer demands
  • Willingness to work outside normal business hours, including occasional overtime or on-call support
