About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Participate in all phases of the product development life cycle, including New Product Development, New Technology Projects, and “Always On” Systems Management work
- Own the Requirements Management process and decompose stakeholder needs into functional System Requirements
- Collaborate with cross-functional stakeholders and Engineering SMEs
- Own Systems Interface Management and critical interface documentation with Module Owners and the CAD Design Team
- Establish, maintain, and expand Systems Engineering tools for portfolio architecture governance
- Participate in the Global Systems Engineering Council and lead aspects of the Requirements and Test Case Management workstream
- Work with Unitary Architects on Architecture Governance
- Work with Engineering Project Leads on project-level System and Module Requirements
- Support Systems Engineering practices including the V-model, System Diagrams, and FMEAs
- Occasionally lead New Technology Projects supporting architecture needs
- Support implementation of Systems Engineering and product development processes and champion improvements
- Train and mentor Systems Architects, Engineering Leads, and Module Owners on Systems Engineering tools and processes
- Champion architecture integrity throughout the product lifecycle
Requirements
What you’ll need- Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical, Electrical, or Aerospace Engineering
- At least 7 years of product development experience in the HVAC, or similar, industry
- Knowledge of and experience with Systems Engineering tools and requirements
- Knowledge of design and architecture tools and principles
- Strong foundation in Cabinets/Structures, Refrigeration, Airflow, Heat, or similar subsystems
- High attention to detail and strong organizational skills
- Exceptional verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills
- Ability to work in a team environment and collaborate with teams in multiple locations
- Product development knowledge
- Ability to work independently with minimal supervision
- Approximately 10% overnight travel
- Master's Degree in Engineering is a plus
- Master's Degree or certificate in Systems Engineering is a plus
- INCOSE ASEP, CSEP, or ESEP certification is a plus
