About the role

Key responsibilities & impact

Participate in all phases of the product development life cycle, including New Product Development, New Technology Projects, and “Always On” Systems Management work
Own the Requirements Management process and decompose stakeholder needs into functional System Requirements
Collaborate with cross-functional stakeholders and Engineering SMEs
Own Systems Interface Management and critical interface documentation with Module Owners and the CAD Design Team
Establish, maintain, and expand Systems Engineering tools for portfolio architecture governance
Participate in the Global Systems Engineering Council and lead aspects of the Requirements and Test Case Management workstream
Work with Unitary Architects on Architecture Governance
Work with Engineering Project Leads on project-level System and Module Requirements
Support Systems Engineering practices including the V-model, System Diagrams, and FMEAs
Occasionally lead New Technology Projects supporting architecture needs
Support implementation of Systems Engineering and product development processes and champion improvements
Train and mentor Systems Architects, Engineering Leads, and Module Owners on Systems Engineering tools and processes
Champion architecture integrity throughout the product lifecycle

Requirements

What you’ll need

Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical, Electrical, or Aerospace Engineering
At least 7 years of product development experience in the HVAC, or similar, industry
Knowledge of and experience with Systems Engineering tools and requirements
Knowledge of design and architecture tools and principles
Strong foundation in Cabinets/Structures, Refrigeration, Airflow, Heat, or similar subsystems
High attention to detail and strong organizational skills
Exceptional verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills
Ability to work in a team environment and collaborate with teams in multiple locations
Product development knowledge
Ability to work independently with minimal supervision
Approximately 10% overnight travel
Master's Degree in Engineering is a plus
Master's Degree or certificate in Systems Engineering is a plus
INCOSE ASEP, CSEP, or ESEP certification is a plus
