About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Lead creation and execution of the Supply business strategy
- Influence and create the strategy process and key critical strategic initiatives for the Trane Technologies Supply business
- Lead strategic alignment across the business to define and execute growth opportunities
- Establish processes and tools supporting strategic foresight, customer excellence, and continuous improvement
- Partner with cross-functional teams to execute and refresh strategic plans
- Build and own a pipeline and process for developing and managing relationships and proactive opportunities
- Lead strategic programs and continuous improvement teams across the business
- Lead, mentor, and develop a high-performing strategy team
- Provide coaching and professional development to team members
- Lead and implement the Supply business strategic planning process
- Partner with senior leadership on the Supply Business A3 methodology and Lean/A3 problem-solving
- Lead strategic initiatives driving profitable growth
- Develop and manage standard work, metrics, and deliverables for strategy processes and initiatives
- Develop and monitor KPIs for sales, marketing, and operations against strategic goals
- Socialize the strategic plan and drive clear progress metrics
- Collect and analyze business development data, including segments, market dynamics, and competitive assessments
- Analyze market trends, customer needs, and competitive landscape
- Lead growth projects involving sustainable growth, market expansion, product development, competitive advantage, and service innovations
- Collaborate with product management, marketing, and operations to align growth initiatives with customer and market demands
- Report to the President of Supply
Requirements
What you’ll need- Bachelor’s degree in engineering or a business discipline
- MBA preferred
- At least 7 years of leadership experience in strategy and business development, sales, or product management/marketing
- Prior experience leading and facilitating strategy formulation processes and tools
- Knowledge and experience working within manufacturing or retail-based business operating systems, with emphasis on LEAN tools and principles
- Knowledge of the HVAC distribution and sales network and internal operations is a plus
- Well-developed interpersonal, negotiation, and communication skills
- Analytical and problem-solving skills
- Ability to operate as a change agent, teach/educate stakeholders, build consensus, and drive business growth
- Ability to drive change and work in a lean environment
- Experience working with cross-functional teams including product management, IT, sales, finance, customer service, legal, and marketing
- Ability to manage projects and track results
- Ability to manage multiple concurrent tasks and projects
- Product knowledge and understanding of product offering
- Strong customer focus
