About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Serve as the primary service and maintenance contact for Trane's Rental Service customers in a defined commercial market
  • Perform preventative maintenance, troubleshooting, repairs, and startup of HVAC systems in commercial and shop environments
  • Perform end-to-end testing, startup, commissioning, troubleshooting, and servicing of assigned HVAC equipment
  • Service air-cooled chillers, package units, air handlers, variable frequency drives, and other HVAC equipment
  • Identify, analyze, diagnose, and repair equipment and systems at the Rental Services depot
  • Perform scheduled and unscheduled preventative maintenance, inspections, service requests, equipment replacement, and modifications
  • Coordinate with the ASM and/or Service Center Coordinator regarding on-site maintenance, testing, repairs, and service findings
  • Use software, technology, hand tools, blueprints, and engineering specifications to diagnose and repair units
  • Maintain positive relationships with customers, vendors, and co-workers through oral and written communication
  • Enforce safety standards and maintain security and accountability of company-issued and procured assets
  • Work overtime and weeks as business requirements dictate, including occasional overnight stays

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • High School Diploma or GED required
  • At least 5+ years of experience servicing, troubleshooting, and repairing commercial or industrial HVAC equipment, including chiller systems
  • Operating knowledge of Microsoft Office software
  • Working proficiency with a handheld computer, such as a smartphone
  • EPA Certification
  • Some travel required
  • Ability to work overtime and weeks as business requires, including occasional overnight stays
  • Safety-sensitive role may require additional drug screening
