About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Perform end-to-end testing, download programming, start up, commission, and service assigned projects
  • Serve as the direct customer contact for Trane Technologies products and equipment
  • Identify, examine, diagnose, and repair equipment and systems at customer locations
  • Coordinate with the team leader/project manager and customer on on-site installation and repair requirements
  • Forecast issues, gather materials, and synchronize on-site work
  • Use software, technology, hand tools, blueprints, and engineering specifications to diagnose and repair units
  • Enforce safety standards and maintain security and accountability of company-issued and procured assets
  • Record asset use, wear, and condition
  • Mentor team members
  • Maintain flexibility to work overtime, business-required weeks, and occasional overnight stays
  • Commission, troubleshoot, repair, and start up commercial HVAC systems
  • Act as the primary service and maintenance contact for customers in a defined commercial market

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • High School Diploma or equivalent, or certificate of completion from an accredited technical school is required
  • At least 10 years of experience in commercial HVAC, including chiller systems
  • Operating knowledge of Microsoft Office software
  • Working proficiency with a handheld computer such as a smartphone or iPad
  • Valid driver’s license held for a minimum of 12 months
  • No major or frequent traffic violations, including DUI, hit and run, license suspension, reckless/careless driving, multiple smaller infractions, or preventable collisions in the previous 3 years
  • EPA Certification (e.g. HVAC Journeyman, Boiler Operator, Gas Installer)
  • Ability to work overtime and business-required weeks, including occasional overnight stays
  • Safety-sensitive role may require passing additional drug screening
