About the role

Key responsibilities & impact

Provide technical assistance for maintenance and repair of warm and cold laboratory equipment from many types and brands
Ensure laboratory equipment operates according to manufacturer and customer requirements
Use precision measuring tools for diagnostic troubleshooting
Document service and installation activities through work orders, maintenance checklists, and daily time sheets
Perform IQ/OQ/PQ, validations, and equipment qualifications
Install equipment according to manufacturer requirements
Serve as the primary service and maintenance contact for LSS service customers
Perform scheduled and unscheduled preventive maintenance inspections, installations, service requests, and part replacements
Calibrate laboratory equipment precisely
Diagnose and repair refrigeration and control systems using electronics, digital controls, cascade and basic refrigeration theory, and mechanical techniques
Represent the company as the direct customer contact during on-site services
Identify, analyze, and repair laboratory equipment at customer laboratory settings
Use software, hand tools, metrology instrumentation, and schematics to perform basic unit diagnoses
Recover and charge refrigerant on refrigeration systems
Use pressure gauges and interpret measurement findings
Participate in an on-call rotation schedule
Travel up to 50% domestically and internationally

Requirements

What you’ll need

At least 2 years of transferable work experience
High school diploma
Completed HVACR trade school training, or equivalent
EPA certification Type I & II required
Universal certification preferred
Valid driver’s license
Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite
Ability to interpret piping and electrical schematics
Ability to use hand tools, precision measuring tools, metrology instrumentation, pressure gauges, and other instruments
Ability to diagnose and analyze control circuits on laboratory equipment
Ability to operate and navigate control systems
Ability to troubleshoot complex control circuits
Ability to read, understand, and follow company SOPs
Refrigeration and electro/mechanical knowledge
Knowledge of electronics, digital controls, cascade refrigeration, basic refrigeration theory, and control/mechanical techniques
Experience with temperature mapping preferred
Ability to participate in an on-call rotation
Ability to travel up to 50% domestically and internationally
Safety-sensitive role; additional drug screening may be required
