About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Function as regional sales leader for the light commercial business sold through the Equipment revenue stream
  • Develop and maintain long-term contractor customer relationships
  • Maximize account penetration and customer retention
  • Lead customer and district sales management
  • Acquire new customers and measure customer satisfaction
  • Manage pricing and marketing
  • Drive market penetration and business growth
  • Hire and onboard new sales associates
  • Assess skills and administer necessary training
  • Set quotas and produce accurate sales forecasts
  • Ensure consistent use of Trane sales tools and systems
  • Maintain weekly physical presence to lead sales meetings and participate in customer activities
  • Achieve annual objectives for profit, volume, margins, business mix, and market share
  • Monitor and coach Account Managers on project attainment, customer service, relationship development, and profitability
  • Investigate customer concerns, implement corrective actions, and communicate with customers and the sales team

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • Equivalent combination of education and experience, or a Bachelor’s Degree in Arts/Sciences (BA/BS) in engineering, engineering technology, business, or equivalent from a four-year college or university
  • 5+ years of related experience in a sales leadership role
  • Candidates without a 4-year degree are encouraged to apply; practical experience, relevant skills, and alignment with leadership principles are prioritized
  • Valid in-state driver’s license held for a minimum of 12 months
  • No major or frequent traffic violations in the previous 3 years, including DUI, hit and run, license suspension, reckless/careless driving, multiple smaller infractions, or preventable collisions
  • Ability to work onsite Monday through Thursday
  • Physical presence in assigned markets expected weekly
  • Ability to lead sales meetings and participate in customer activities
  • Safety-sensitive role; additional drug screening may be required
