About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Work with Engineering to create parts, assemblies, and layouts in Creo Parametric
  • Produce and develop designs and documentation using computer design and product life cycle management systems
  • Create supporting documentation using multiple systems and applications
  • Recognize and recommend solutions for design or product configuration problems
  • Detect and correct own errors and errors of others
  • Translate verbal and written instructions into drawings of HVAC products
  • Create sketches, 2D and 3D engineering drawings, and common computations
  • Create assemblies and sheet metal parts using 3D CAD modeling software
  • Provide technical support and answer questions from other departments about drawings or design data
  • Adhere to company safety and security policies and procedures
  • Manage project schedules and teams for assigned projects
  • Direct tasks or efforts for self and potentially others on projects, ensuring completion of assignments

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • 3+ years of experience in lieu of a degree, or Associate’s Degree in electrical or mechanical engineering
  • Experience with SolidWorks, Creo Parametric, Creo Schematics, Inventor, or ProEngineer
  • Experience coordinating and directing project planning and scheduling
  • Working knowledge of change control, bills of material, product definition and selection, machine design, castings, fabrication, sheet metal, GD&T, tolerance analysis, electrical and electronics, heat transfer, piping, and welding
  • In-depth knowledge of design and drafting standard practices, methods, and processes
  • Ability to make sketches, 2D and 3D engineering drawings, and common computations
  • Ability to create assemblies and sheet metal parts using 3D CAD modeling software
  • Ability to recognize and recommend solutions for design or product configuration problems
  • Ability to work with minor independent judgment under close direction of senior staff
  • Ability to manage project schedules and teams for assigned projects
  • Ability to direct tasks or efforts for self and potentially others
  • Ability to adhere to company safety and security policies and procedures
