About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Manage all aspects of equipment projects from beginning to end
  • Administer, implement, and manage projects within scope, schedule, and budget
  • Review construction schedules to meet customer requirements
  • Generate ship status reports detailing product lead times and project status
  • Coordinate selection, pricing, and integration of equipment, controls, and services
  • Create detailed cost estimates
  • Resolve major scope deviations with the team after Project Scope Validation
  • Maintain forecasted cost-at-completion accuracy
  • Create and revise project schedules, including tasks, estimates, dependencies, and milestones
  • Prepare Trane material and vendor orders
  • Record receipt of materials and approve payments
  • Enter equipment orders and issue vendor purchase orders
  • Generate work orders for equipment start-ups
  • Manage project cash flow, including progress billing, collections support and monitoring, and resource management
  • Work with customers, warehouses, and claims teams on freight-damaged or missing equipment
  • Investigate customer concerns, implement corrective action, and communicate with customers and assigned staff
  • Transition warranties successfully to the service process
  • Work closely with internal and external customers in a fast-paced, high-volume environment

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • Bachelor's degree in finance or business management preferred
  • 3–5 years of experience in project management or construction management preferred
  • Financial management/project budgeting background required
  • Working knowledge of construction facets, including mechanical, electrical, and plumbing systems
  • Knowledge of HVAC systems, electrical systems, and temperature controls
  • Experience with Microsoft software and Teams
  • Ability to quickly learn proprietary software
  • Great communication and organizational skills
  • Strong follow-up skills and ability to multitask across tasks and computer systems
  • Self-motivated with a strong sense of urgency
  • Ability to learn quickly through hands-on/job-shadow training
  • Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, high-volume environment
