About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Serve as the primary service and maintenance contact for Trane Technologies customers in a defined market
  • Commission, troubleshoot, repair, and start up HVAC systems in commercial environments
  • Coordinate with team leaders/project managers and customers to understand on-site installation and repair requirements
  • Forecast issues, gather materials, and synchronize on-site work
  • Serve as direct customer contact and ensure customer satisfaction
  • Identify, diagnose, and repair equipment and systems at customer locations
  • Use software, technology, hand tools, blueprints, and engineering specifications to diagnose and repair units
  • Maintain flexibility to work overtime, weekends, and occasional overnight stays as business requires
  • Enforce safety standards
  • Record the use, wear, and condition of company-issued and procured assets
  • Collaborate with colleagues when not directly interacting with customers

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • High School Diploma or equivalent required
  • Typically 5 plus years of experience in HVAC
  • Technical School or formal training preferred
  • Operating knowledge of Microsoft Office software
  • Working proficiency with a handheld computer, such as a smartphone or iPad
  • Valid driver’s license held for a minimum of 12 months
  • No major or frequent traffic violations, including DUI, hit and run, license suspension, reckless/careless driving, multiple smaller infractions, or preventable collisions in the previous 3 years
  • EPA Certification
  • Ability to safely and legally operate a vehicle using a seat belt
  • Ability to wear helmets, safety goggles, fall protection harnesses, and safety boots
  • Ability to twist the trunk 90 degrees in each direction
  • Ability to squat and touch the floor with both hands
  • Ability to reach hands over the head
  • Ability to stand on concrete surfaces for extended periods, routinely up to 4 hours
  • Regular ability to use hands and fingers, walk, stoop, kneel, and climb ladders
  • Ability to lift or move up to 10 lbs. regularly, up to 40 lbs. frequently, and more than 40 lbs. occasionally
  • Ability to safely use a ladder with a 375 lb. total weight limit while carrying equipment of 50 lbs. or less
  • Ability to maneuver confined access areas as small as 30” vertical x 45” horizontal
  • Ability to routinely access rooftops using extension or fixed ladders at heights of 15’ to 20’, and occasionally up to 50 feet or more
  • Ability to work in variable weather, around moving mechanical parts, heights, electrical shock risks, noisy operating equipment, and other variable environmental conditions
  • Safety-sensitive role; additional drug screening may be required
