About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Start and commission new systems
- Diagnose and repair environmental-control systems
- Service products and equipment on assigned projects
- Identify, diagnose, and repair equipment and systems at customer locations
- Coordinate with team leaders and customers to understand requirements for on-site installations and repairs
- Forecast issues, gather materials, and synchronize on-site work
- Maintain current knowledge of Trane products and direct digital control systems
- Enforce safety standards
- Record the use, wear, and condition of company-issued and procured assets
- Work overtime and weeks as business needs require, including occasional overnight stays
- Serve as the direct customer contact and ensure customer satisfaction
Requirements
What you’ll need- High School Diploma or equivalent required
- Typically at least 3–5 years of experience in HVAC/Controls
- Technical School or formal training preferred
- Operating knowledge of Microsoft Office software
- Working proficiency with handheld computers such as smartphones and iPads
- Valid driver’s license held for a minimum of 12 months
- No major or frequent traffic violations, including DUI, hit and run, license suspension, reckless/careless driving, multiple smaller infractions, or preventable collisions in the previous 3 years
- Previous experience with DDC controls systems preferred
- EPA certification preferred
- Ability to work overtime and weeks as business requires, including occasional overnight stays
- Safety-sensitive role; additional drug screening may be required
