About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Provide technical and marketing/sales support to the service sales field organization through phone/email support, direct customer interaction, product selection, pricing and quotation activity, new product development, marketing content, and customer factory visits
- Travel to sales offices, corporate events, and customer sites in support of Trane Service, including presentations, sales discussions, and tradeshows
- Establish product lines’ “selling story” and communicate it to service sales support, business unit functions, and field sales
- Understand competitors’ products and strategies and communicate relevant information internally and to the field
- Participate in creative thinking, team decision-making, and problem solving with cross-functional teams
- Price projects and assist in bid strategies
- Provide marketing, technical, systems, and applications support to peers, field sales, and external customers
- Participate in or lead projects involving new product development, marketing/promotional/technical content, and improved sales tools
- Support a professional, field- and customer-focused environment with performance measurements and process improvement
- Assist with equipment configuration and software requirements to improve software capabilities
- Train new service sales engineers in the Trane Graduate Training Program
Requirements
What you’ll need- Bachelor's degree in engineering or relevant industry work experience is required
- 2+ years of engineering-related work experience preferred
- Excellent oral and written communication skills required
- Ability to travel independently up to 10% of the time required
- Tactfulness and assertiveness
- Effective and clear decision-making under pressure
- Ability to communicate effectively with customers, estimators, account managers, and internal customers
- Success-oriented, self-starting, and able to manage time and priorities to meet goals and objectives
- Highly developed interpersonal, communication, and team-player skills
- PC and end-user computer proficiency, including Excel, Word, PowerPoint, and cloud-based selection software
