About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Develop HVAC refrigeration and airflow systems meeting performance, regulatory, quality, and cost requirements
  • Review technical feasibility of product and internal requirements
  • Design and select robust, cost-effective components and develop engineering specifications
  • Complete system integration tasks, including engineering design, specifications, layouts, and design reviews
  • Develop laboratory test plans and analyze test data to ensure product performance and quality
  • Support creation of documentation packages reflecting design intent and completing required documents on time
  • Resolve knowledge gaps, FRACAS failures, and DFMEA items to minimize quality escapes
  • Provide guidance and leadership to designers, lab technicians, and other team members
  • Manage project schedules and teams for assigned projects
  • Lead engineering teams and develop concepts for new and improved commercial HVAC products
  • Collaborate with engineering, manufacturing, marketing, service, and sourcing departments

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • Bachelor’s Degree in Arts/Sciences (BA/BS) in an Engineering discipline
  • 3–5 years’ experience leading technical aspects of product design projects, validation testing, and root cause analysis
  • Ability to deliver and lead technical designs meeting project and product requirements
  • Familiarity with HVAC system functions, including refrigeration, heat transfer, airflow, and ventilation preferred
  • Good understanding of applying computer simulation tools and theory to HVAC system design preferred
  • Understanding and application of applicable regulatory codes such as UL
