About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Develop small commercial HVAC, controls, connected building, digital, service, and turnkey solutions using Trane equipment, controls, and services
  • Partner with Account Managers to identify and develop profitable, executable opportunities across national owner-direct accounts
  • Assist in project scoping, concept development, solution validation, and preliminary design
  • Support project budgets, subcontractor and independent service provider RFQs, scope statements, schedules, specifications, and milestone dates
  • Coordinate with independent service providers and internal stakeholders on executable project plans
  • Provide technical and solution-development support for Trane business pursuits
  • Participate in strategic account planning and job acquisition efforts
  • Manage conceptual site plans and preliminary engineering documents through turnover to execution teams
  • Improve project development processes across digital, service, and turnkey offerings
  • Support secured customers from project development through transition to operations or execution teams
  • Drive customer satisfaction, account growth, and long-term relationship development
  • Create repeatable customer value through service, modernization, digital expansion, and turnkey opportunities
  • Travel as required and perform other assigned duties

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • Four-year degree in Engineering, Technical field, Business, or related field required
  • Experience supporting project development, project management, service solutions, turnkey delivery, or construction-related sales support
  • Ability to identify customer needs and translate them into practical, profitable, and executable solutions
  • Working knowledge of HVAC systems, controls, building systems, and the building construction industry
  • Understanding of construction methods and practices
  • Ability to communicate with and coordinate subcontractors and independent service providers
  • Ability to audit existing mechanical and building systems and recommend solutions
  • Strong estimating, scoping, and proposal support capabilities
  • Ability to develop and write HVAC system-level sequence of operations and system-level control requirements is a plus
  • Proficiency in Visio, AutoCAD, and/or other design software; familiarity with digital platforms and connected building technologies is a plus
  • Strong interpersonal, teamwork, and communication skills
  • Ability to work regularly and dependably in a team environment
  • Flexibility to work outside normal work hours or weekends as required
  • Some travel with occasional overnight stays
  • Valid driver’s license held for a minimum of 12 months
  • No major or frequent traffic violations, including DUI, Hit & Run, License Suspension, Reckless/Careless Driving, or multiple smaller infractions or preventable collisions in the previous 3 years
