About the role

  • Trainline: enables millions of travellers to find and book the best value rail and coach tickets via app, website and B2B channels
  • Support development of Trainline's monetisation vision and translate it into a world-class customer experience
  • Hands-on role exploring and validating new disruptive ideas and shipping web & app experiences to accelerate commercial growth
  • Ensure monetisation initiatives (ads, partnerships, ancillaries) prioritise user value
  • Lead design across a 70-strong Monetisation squad spanning Product, Data, Engineering and Commercial
  • Partner with Research and Data Science to use data and experimentation to assess and optimise design impact
  • Lead end-to-end design process delivering innovative features and visually polished solutions
  • Directly shape wider product strategy for Monetisation and how Trainline sells value to users

Requirements

  • Established experience leading Product Design or UX strategies
  • Experience working directly on commercial, monetisation-related, consumer-focused tech (Advertising & Marketing Tech, eCommerce, or similar)
  • Direct ads experience would be a bonus
  • Proficiency in Figma for day-to-day design work
  • Hands-on executional role with an expectation to raise the design quality bar
  • Experience in data-informed experimentation such as A/B or multivariant testing, with a focus on growth or monetisation metrics
  • Experience in visual and interaction design for mobile app as well as responsive web experiences across desktop and mobile
  • Strong leadership and mentoring abilities
  • Exceptional communication and storytelling skills
  • Self-starter mentality with strong collaboration skills with Engineers, Product Managers, and broader business teams
  • Active curiosity about the use of AI tooling to increase the efficiency & effectiveness of workflows
