Trail of Bits

Project Manager, Client Services

Trail of Bits

Project Manager responsible for client relationships and project delivery at a cybersecurity company. Collaborating closely with sales and engineering teams to enhance service value.

Posted 5/6/2026full-timeRemote • 🇺🇸 United StatesMid-LevelSenior💰 $135,000 - $165,000 per yearWebsite

About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • End-to-end project delivery. Run multiple concurrent client engagements through the project lifecycle. Manage scope, timeline, and budget so engineers stay focused on the technical work and clients stay informed.
  • Client relationship ownership. Serve as the primary point of contact across your portfolio. Handle status updates, working sessions, escalations, and the small check-ins between projects that keep accounts warm.
  • Account growth. Spot opportunities for clients to do more with Trail of Bits. Move clients from one-off reviews into retainers, follow up on options in existing SOWs, and bring sales in when a real expansion is on the table.
  • Sales partnership. Run the returning-client sales cycle alongside our sales team. When a client you've worked with comes back, the handoff stays invisible to them.
  • Internal coordination. Work closely with Engineering Directors and engineers to staff projects, manage scheduling in Float, track work in Asana, and keep deal and account context current in HubSpot.
  • Cross-functional support. Show up for the team beyond your direct projects. That includes helping marketing drive client attendance at industry events, contributing to internal process improvements, and jumping in where the team needs you.

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • Project management in professional services. Direct experience managing client-facing engagements at a consulting, advisory, or services firm. You've owned scope, timeline, and budget for multiple concurrent projects and you've been the person the clients call when something changes. This is not a product implementation role.
  • Client lifecycle ownership. Demonstrated experience owning client relationships through and between engagements, not just during a single project's lifespan. You think about the next engagement during the current one, and your goal is to grow the relationship.
  • Account growth contribution. Experience growing client accounts through expanded scopes, retainers, or follow-on work. You're comfortable making service recommendations to clients without it feeling like a sales pitch.
  • Sales partnership. Experience working alongside a sales team to scope, propose, and close work with new and returning clients. You know the difference between owning the client relationship and stepping on the salesperson's toes.
  • Operating without a playbook. Demonstrated experience taking initiative in environments where processes are evolving or undefined. You build the version of a process that works now and refine it as you learn, rather than waiting for someone to define the path.
  • Technical communication. Experience translating technical work for non-technical client stakeholders and translating client business goals back into terms an engineering team can act on. You don't need to write the code, but you need to be able to follow the conversation.
  • Executive stakeholder communication. Experience presenting project status, risks, and recommendations to executive and C-suite stakeholders on the client side.
  • AI in your daily workflow. Experience using AI tools as part of how you actually work, not just to polish a resume. We're an AI-native company and our PMs use Claude every day. If you're skeptical of AI as a category, this isn't a fit.
  • Tooling fluency. Hands-on experience with Slack, Google Workspace, and a project tracking tool such as Asana, GitHub, or equivalent. HubSpot or another CRM is a plus.
