About the role

Key responsibilities & impact

Design and build performant, scalable REST APIs and WebSocket services
Develop and maintain backend microservices using Python, Node.js, Go, or C#
Own features end-to-end from schema design through deployment and monitoring
Build integrations with third-party trading platforms, market data providers, and internal tools
Design and optimize relational and NoSQL data models across PostgreSQL, MySQL, Redis, and MongoDB
Build and maintain event-driven pipelines and message queue systems
Work with cloud infrastructure (AWS, GCP, or Azure) and containerized deployments
Manage caching strategies, background job processing, and async workflows
Ensure system reliability, security, and performance across all environments
Implement observability — logging, metrics, alerting, and distributed tracing
Contribute to CI/CD pipelines, infrastructure-as-code, and deployment automation
Participate in architecture discussions and technical planning sessions
Write clean, well-tested, and maintainable backend code
Troubleshoot production incidents and drive root cause resolution

Requirements

What you’ll need

4+ years of backend software engineering experience
Strong proficiency in one or more backend languages: Python, Node.js, Go, or C#
Deep experience designing and building scalable REST APIs and WebSocket services
Solid understanding of relational databases (PostgreSQL, MySQL) and query optimization
Experience with caching layers (Redis, Memcached) and async processing patterns
Familiarity with message brokers and event streaming (Kafka, RabbitMQ, NATS, or similar)
Experience working with cloud platforms (AWS, GCP, or Azure) and Docker/Kubernetes
Strong grasp of system design principles — distributed systems, fault tolerance, and scalability
Ability to work independently and move quickly in a startup environment
Strong communication and collaboration skills
