About the role
- Architect SEO foundation and own technical SEO: site architecture, crawl optimization, indexation and rendering, canonical implementation, pagination, Core Web Vitals, page speed, mobile-first requirements, structured data and schema implementation, and technical diagnostics.
- Build and own content hubs with pillar/cluster architecture, information taxonomy, topical authority mapping, and E-E-A-T principles.
- Lead end-to-end keyword and entity research including semantic topic modeling, search intent classification, competitive gap analysis, and opportunity sizing.
- Create scalable content operations through detailed briefs, user intent frameworks, competitive intelligence, and success metrics.
- Establish editorial governance: style guides, content templates, quality benchmarks, publication workflows, and editorial calendar; stand up and manage a team of writers, editors, and SMEs.
- Optimize content lifecycle: systematic refresh cycles, historical optimization programs, and performance-based prioritization.
- Plan, produce, and launch an online course: define curriculum, SEO for course pages, and gated vs. ungated strategy aligned to lifecycle goals.
- Deploy LLM and AI-assisted strategies: structure content for AI overviews/SGE-like experiences and use AI for ideation, briefs, first-draft generation, repurposing, and content QA with human-in-the-loop.
- Collaborate with Engineering, Product, Design, RevOps, and agencies to scope, prioritize, ship fixes, and report on performance in GA4, Google Search Console, and BI tools (Looker Studio).
Requirements
- 7+ years in SEO with senior individual contributor depth across technical SEO and content strategy.
- Proven experience building content hubs at scale and leading keyword research end to end.
- Hands-on editorial leadership: writing briefs, managing creators, enforcing standards, and shipping on schedule.
- Demonstrated ability to guide machine-learning systems from a content and SEO perspective, including ranking systems, bidding algorithms, and LLM-oriented retrieval.
- Strong cross-functional track record with Product, Design, Engineering, and RevOps; comfortable translating requirements, writing tickets, and partnering through delivery.
- Proficiency with GA4, Google Search Console, Looker Studio or similar BI, and common SEO toolsets.
- Clear communicator who can turn data into decisions and influence stakeholders.
- Disqualifier: experience limited to a single SEO discipline such as link building only or on-page edits only.
- Nice to Haves: Video content creation and YouTube SEO, including scripting, thumbnails, and chaptering.
- Nice to Haves: Experience with programmatic internal linking, schema automation, and content operations tooling.
- Nice to Haves: Working knowledge of HTML, CSS basics, or SQL for analysis.
