About the role

  • Plan, analyze, estimate, perform RAM modeling and simulations and report system RAM performance to peers and senior decision makers.
  • Interface with system architecture design teams to provide feedback on design reliability.
  • Interface with operations and support organizations to aid in optimizing logistics support resources.
  • Work with senior leadership to characterize expected system performance relative to requirements.
  • Identify deficiencies and potential improvements to the existing C2BMC system design relative to expected capabilities and requirements.
  • Perform general systems engineering tasks: requirements decomposition, use cases, performance and other modeling activities, interface control documents, concept of operations, architecture trades, and other system engineering work products.
  • Lead engineering tasks such as system performance analysis, requirements traceability, architecture definition, and system integration.
  • Provide supervisory guidance to junior analysts and engineers and present information to senior decision makers.
  • Participate in program plans, reports, verification plans, logistics support concepts, and government contracting administrative tasking and support.
  • Resolve significant problems and issues associated with Reliability, Availability, Maintainability and Supportability across technical, schedule, and cost boundaries.

Requirements

  • Minimum of 7 - 9 years of systems engineering and reliability engineering roles in the development and integration of large scale weapons and/or sensor systems, C2/C3 systems and Battle Management Systems or equivalent.
  • Supporting missile defense roles, capability and requirements based contracts is a plus.
  • Provide leadership of engineering tasks such as system performance analysis, system requirements analysis and decomposition, requirements traceability, architecture definition, and system integration.
  • Candidate must be a self starter, be effective with minimal supervision and support within a constantly changing baseline, and be able to communicate effectively with peers, management, and customers.
  • Must be able to work effectively in a teaming environment, provide supervisory guidance to junior analysts and engineers, interface with management teams, have excellent verbal and written communications skills, and effectively present information to senior decision makers.
  • Possess appropriate knowledge/experience with program plans, reports, studies, presentations, verification plans, logistics support concepts, and general government contracting and administrative tasking and support.
  • Extensive experience in system-level hardware and software engineering processes, modeling and analysis with an emphasis on Reliability, Availability and Maintainability (RAM), including Reliability Block Diagrams (RBDs); Probabilistic Reliability Analysis (PRA); Failure Modes, Effects and Criticality Analysis (FMECA); Failure Reporting and Corrective Action Systems (FRACAS); Familiarity with software reliability processes and tools; Familiarity with MS Office tools, including Excel and Access.
  • Strong knowledge of systems engineering concepts, principles, and techniques as well as familiarity with the DoD RAM guide and MIL-STDs related to RAM.
  • Experience with Monte Carlo simulation, discrete event simulation, general simulation theory.
  • Experience with relational database and programming languages.
  • Experience with ballistic missile defense systems.
  • Experience with industry standard RAM analysis software tools such as Raptor and or Relex.
  • Extensive engineering leadership experience including problem definition, analysis approach definition, system architecture definition, risk and opportunity management, and decision analysis expertise.
  • Cognizant of and involved in resolution of significant problems and issues associated with RAM and Supportability across technical, schedule, and cost boundaries.
  • SECRET clearance required.

  • Education: Bachelor Degree in a related technical field with 9 years or more of professional experience; 7 years of related experience with Masters degree.
