About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Collect and periodically analyze financial information
  • Prepare monthly financial statements
  • Post adjusting journal entries
  • Analyze monthly variances against the budget and explain them
  • Prepare various monthly expense analyses
  • Reconcile and monitor certain balance sheet accounts
  • Meet with managers to discuss results and analyses
  • Participate in the preparation of financial forecasts
  • Participate in the preparation of annual budgets as well as related analyses and schedules
  • Participate in the preparation of the year-end file
  • Participate in preparing accountability/reporting analyses for various project or event support programs
  • Prepare various reporting documents (Ministry of Tourism, Tourism Industry Alliance, etc.)
  • Prepare grant claims
  • Perform invoicing, cash receipts and collections
  • Provide support and collaborate with different departments
  • Perform any other related tasks

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Business Administration (CPA designation an asset)
  • Minimum of 3 to 5 years' experience in a similar position
  • Proficiency with the Microsoft Office suite and advanced Excel skills (pivot tables)
  • Fluency in French and English, both spoken and written
  • English is primarily required for client communication (invoicing and collections)
  • Knowledge of Microsoft Business Central accounting system
  • Attention to detail, thoroughness and rigor in work methods
  • Ability to meet deadlines
  • Strong teamwork skills and excellent oral and written communication abilities
  • Autonomy, resourcefulness and organizational skills
  • Ability to adapt in a continuously changing environment
