About the role
- Lead and manage our planning, property & environment team.
- Undertake caseholding for more complex matters alongside team leadership responsibilities.
- Ensure instructions / cases are distributed appropriately to team members.
- Support key agendas pertinent to the investment and prosperity of Torbay and its residents.
- Attend essential meetings and/or make court appearances as required.
Requirements
- Highly effective communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to give clear and accurate legal advice.
- Analytical and problem solving skills.
- High level of knowledge of the law and procedure within a specialist discipline in the team work area.
- A detailed knowledge of the law applicable to Local Government.
- A general working knowledge of the duties and role of the monitoring officer.
- At least 3 years post qualification experience as a Solicitor, Barrister or Fellow of CILEX (or equivalent).
